Ok, so I am finally caught up and can get around to posting this info:

With the factory electrical harness (not DME harness) pulled through to the engine compartment these are the pertinent wires:

The following are the heavier 12g wires:
Red wire (there are 2 of these, both goto the battery)
Red with black stripes (starter solenoid)
Red with blue stripes (DME relay)(pin 87)
Red with yellow spiral (DME relay)(pin 87)
Red with blue spiral (DME relay)(pin 30)
Black with white stripes (DME relay)(pin 85b)
Black (DME relay)(pin 86) this is also accessory power
From the DME relay use pin 87b for fuel pump power.

The following are the smaller wires in the harness:
Blue with yellow stripe (temp sender)
Green (tach / ingition coil)
Blue (oil pressure idiot light)
Blue with white rings (oil pressure gauge)
Black (ignition coil)

Keep in mind this is for an early car! I have not yet torn into the S to see if the late harness is the same.

Thanks Nick. So the above wires are the ones we keep and we can cut out the other wires.

so you are removing all the wires and relays and fusebox? i know you guys talked about keeping the DME relay, is that the only one? how do you mount it?
