What gives ? I made a death-defying white-flag-lap pass on "Cuddles" for third from the back (Micah's spot !) Am I being penalized for having too much fun

Ok will do.

Oh... one thing The points system also says that non finishers get 1/2 the points of the last finisher. Finishers are defined be needing to complete 50%-1 of the class leader. The minus one helps to balaced odd laps a bit.

So if the class leader turns 13 laps and you complete 9 you get all the points for you spot. However if you turn just 3 laps you only get 1/2 the last place. Remember this for the CLASS leader not the overall group leader. It is irrelevant how many laps the group leader completes.

Two more examples
Class leader 12 Laps (50% = 6 minus 1 = 5)
Finishers need to complete 5 laps to get full points for their spot

Class leader runs 13 laps (50% = 6.5 minus 1 = 5.5 rounds to 6)
Finisher need to complete 6 lap to get full points for their spot

What this does is to encourage drivers to complete as many races as possible. Remember though if you have a bad race and have to park it after 2-3 laps you do get some points, but that these points can also be dropped so one bad race is not going to end anyones season, but having a rule like this prevents someone from just trying to get points, but not really racing. NASA National has a provision similar to this, but not -1 lap I believe.

Ok,
You will just need to Turn 1 lap for full points.
