On 3/8/8 Dave said NASA had the full track. Sounded like all weekend.

Hey Lee and others ...
I think we will be running different configurations on Friday ... some East some West maybe some full and maybe some outer ? ???

I would guess Our special race will be on a half track. ???

Makes no sense to me. To have the best event possible you want to keep the cars on track. Any time the cars are on track you can sell that run time. It will take time to change over the course from one config to the next. So even if that takes 10 mintues that is wasted run times. On a 4.5 mile full track I figure you can get 110 cars on track and have no issues with traffic. Here in Arizona we raced with 45 cars on a 1.5 mile track. That rate comes to 135 cars for a 90 minute race. Rather than split the track in two and have two 40 car group why not run a 110 car full course group. If the concern is the length of the cool down lap do a black flag all when the checker comes out an some car get a really short cool down lap and only a few get the full 4.5 miles.

Now the HPDE guys may like different tracks, but us racer would prefer to use the 4.5 mile track as friday' value is for learning the track and testing not just turning laps.

I would even rather ditch the special 944 race to make sure we got use of the 4.5 mile track. Lets save the racing for Sat/Sunday and allow friday for a real test.
Chuck you can discuss this with the powers that be...
