If we make changes to the GCR to support the one car width I'd support it - but not as part of a class specific rule.

Sorry, I get everything from the forum one post at a time through RSS and didn't realize this WAS a separate thread. Carry on. For the record, I would also like to see a change to the 3/4 car rule.

Since I drive a full width car and not a 3/4 width one I'm all for this rule wholeheartedly if we could get it changed.

I agree with everything Jim has said. Here in NorCal it is nice going side by side with someone and know you are protected by rule from them moving down on you because we are required to give a full car with any overlap. It's also the gentlemanly thing to do.

I would like to leave the rule as is - 3/4ths. Running video and having an experienced Race Director can solve pretty much all problems.

This is an excellent idea. I've always thought 3/4 car width invited contact or legally pushing someone off the track , but since it was a NASA CCR rule, I didn't challenge it. Having this change to the 944 Spec class rules is a great idea.
