So what are the differences between SPEC 944 and 944 cup. I've been driving with the NASA guys in HPDE 1 here in FL and I still can't really tell the difference except that there are more cuppers here than "Spec-kers".

Well, first off, 944-Spec is a NASA sanctioned series where the other class is privately owned and operated. Their cars are also very different. While a 944-Spec built racer built to our ruleset can participate in 944Cup classes (though not very competitively), a 944Cup car built to their rules can not race in 944-Spec. If you are looking for an AFFORDABLE 944 racing class, 944-Spec is the answer. A quick look at their rules vs ours will answer all of your questions. If you still have some, post 'em here and I will be more than happy to answer them. After all, I had two wins in 944Cup before I decided to prep the car for 944-Spec and come and have fun.

I don't mean to hijack the post, but Mike are you going to be at Road Atlanta in December? My son and I have been running HPDE1 this year and I would really like to spend some quality time with you to discuss the transition of our car.
