NorCal held their awards luncheon on Sat. Feb 6th 2010 to honor their 2009 season champions.

Congratulations to Richard Lofgren for his 1st place win.  Ronald Dale for 2nd and Sidney Lee for 3rd in the 2009 NorCal 944-Spec season championships.

The main NASA NorCal luncheon was held about a month earlier in January at the Golden Gates Fields horse racing track to honor all the class winners with about 300 people attending.

The 944-Spec only awards luncheon was a smaller, more personal venue to celebrate with our racers, family and friends on another successful season.

This has been the third year we were able to put together a prize table drawing thanks to support of  all of our local sponsors.   To be eligible for the prize table a 944-Spec racer has to to participate in at least three NorCal 944-Spec races.   Each race is worth one raffle ticket so the more races you participate in the more tickets you will have in the drawing.  The drawing is for prize selection order only.  Once your name is drawn and your selection order is known, the rest of your tickets are void.  This way everyone is guaranteed a prize.

Greg Brandeau was the first name drawn.  Greg was not able to make it to the luncheon but we were able to talk to him over the phone and he chose the cylinder leak-down tester kit and the battery charger/maintainer kit.

Rick picked the gift certificate for the three hour Segway ride/tour for two people as his prize selection.

Sid chose the 4500lb capacity winch.

Jerry went with the $100 gift card to Kincaid's restaurant.

Dan chose the HD digital camcorder.

Ivan went with the R/C race set for himself and his kids.

Ron, Ken and Charles Buzzetti  each received $50 gift cards from BestBuy

David was awarded gift cards to Peet's Coffee and Jamba Juice for all his help taking track side pictures of our races.

Despite the downturn in the economy NorCal was still able to add two new 944-Spec racers to it's ranks in 2009.  NorCal continues it growth with more new racers joining us in 2010.  Looking forward to the upcoming 2010 race season and looking forward to racing and hanging out with a great group of friends!
