I drove my car to Hastings last season... I got 35 MPG, with the long 5th gear and drafting off of Chuck's big trailer most of the way. My car went home on his trailer though (blown head gasket). I plan to flat-tow this season, but am still shopping for a cheap tow vehicle...

We will both load and tow from MantisSport......so maybe the deciding factor should be our finishing position in the race. This is assuming that there isn't a longer tow.

Google maps shows the trip from MantisSport to Miller as 1907 Miles. If that's not crazy enough, the real killer is that we both want to leave Miller and drive directly to Summit Point for Hyperfest. That trip will be 2078 miles! Then we get a short juant back home of only 497 miles. I'm not sure that either of us will be in any shape to race at Hyperfest, but we had such a good time there last year that we just have to do this. Total for this insane trip is 4482 miles.... if we make it to the end.

I just saw this post on longest tow, does it count if one flies for about 18 hours (about 10,000 miles) 11 time zones before starting the 14 hour tow?
