New paint on the fender, I'm in...

3 cans of paint on the front fender, driver's door, rear fender - I'm in too!

My list was a bit longer.

Remove spoiler, remove bumper, hammer right fender, hammer left fender, hammer nose plan. Remove radiator & fans, move radiator mount back in place. Fix spoiler. Use tape to cover where the paint fell off. (still not time to do proper paint work yet). In fact I sitll need to fix the spoiler.

In the mean time I changed the oil pump seal since it was leaking like sive. Then replace the oil pump drive gear since it had groove.

Of course while I was there I did rod bearings. Good thing too since the number 2 showing shiny copper.

Ohh replace boot on the steering rack too.

Hmm.... What else... I still have to finish the spoiler this weekend and then re align the front end, add oil water etc. Should be good to go for march.

Since I've got new paint I'm going to protest you two guys on the 50/50 rule....PODIUM! YEA BABY! well for a few days anyway...

Yea Joe I know, it took me this long to get the paint on it, the last prep session was the sawzall, hammers, jacks and prybars...not to mention when the guys pulled the masking tape off for the primer it took half the paint with it...more paintwork...not looking forward to replacing stickers, might be easier just to paint over it all...

...but this is fun right?...

In my case I am just happy I did not get any frame damage from my tire wall incident. Given the alternative I am happy with what I have had to do.

As for the 50/50 rule. My car will pass that. Take a look at photos from the last race. On track you would never notice any damage at all. It will be more of the same for March. With any luck by April (or May at the latest) the paint will be shiny and nice.
