Big Dog is sorry to see that Greg is going to be there in the Thunderbolt car. While it will be GREAT to see him, again, I would have prefered to race with him but, to do that, he needs a car that can go fast enough to need brakes.

Gentlemen, after insulting the Thunderbolt car, Big Dog now needs help.

I do not have any decals or numbers on the car yet. I am wondering if I can get them mailed to someone that will be coming to the track as they will not be ready before I depart on Monday. I will also need to find someone to put them on the car (or show me how to do it without bubbles, etc.). So far, my efforts at applying them has been less than professional. I understand that there is a trick to it by using soap solution or something like that that allows them to be put on and moved around for placement and then smooth them out.

Also, Katie is coming with me for the weekend. We will plan on being at the track Thursday afternoon. Who is up for dinner Thursday? How about Friday? Is there a track dinner for Saturday? If not, we need that too. Invite wives, girlfriends, etc. They are welcome to hang at the Mother Ship.

Big Dog,
Jim Foxx

The Thunderbolt car wasn't insulted because it's a car.
If you imagine cars having personalities and can talk then Thunderbolt would be laughing and saying which of you other 944's ran the 25 Hours?

You can have the decals mail to me.
Sid is our resident expert in applying decals but he can't make this race.
Basic technique to applying decals:
1. Clean the area where the decal will go.
2. Get a spray bottle and mix a little liquid soap with water, if the temperature is cool then soap is not necessary.
3. Use a fine mist setting and spray the area with the water solution.
4. Slowly peel off the decal backing and spray the back of the decal to prevent it from sticking to itself if it's a large piece.
5. Lay the decal onto the area. The water solution will allow you to slide the decal around and position it.
6. Once you have it position, spray the solution on the top of the decal. This will act as a lubricant when you use a credit card or something similar to squeeze the water out of the back of the decal.
7. Work from the center of the decal out to the edges.
8. Normally you just let it dry off in the sun. You can help it with a hair dryer if you are careful.

I can make it to dinner Thursday, can't Friday.
Greg will be flying in Friday and meeting me at the warehouse to pick up the cars and head off to Infineon together. I'm sure he would like to go out for dinner Friday.

NASA will be providing their BBQ dinner Saturday.

See you next week.
