TOPIC: Chassis dolly???

Chassis dolly??? 6 years ago #22040

Hi folks,

Was wondering if any of you are using chassis dollies at home or in your shop?

I’m about to disassemble one car but would like the convenience of being able to roll the chassis around more easily.

Haven’t thrown the car up on the lift yet to see if there are any pick up points better than others.

Any and all pic’s or suggestions welcome!!

I have never done that but Harbor Freight sells wheel dollys and furniture dollys that would work.

Thanks for the feedback. I have the wheel dollies but was interested in something to easily roll the tub around once the four corners were removed. I do have an extra one lying around I can modify but was looking for suggestions on the best pick up points.

I did throw the car on the lift and noticed the choices were somewhat limited. I can use the front rails under the driver and passenger seat and it looks like there is a section just in front of the rear wheels under the rocker panel. Almost looks like an old style jacking point.

I’ve attached a pic of the chassis dolly I’ve got my other project on...

Looks like it would be best to just use what you got and make an interface plate to use on 944.

I wish I had room in my shop to have more than 2 cars.

Can’t fit more than two either, one more reason to have everything on some sort of wheels. This way I can move stuff around as needed.

Except for some of the heavier machinery/tools I try to keep everything rolling.
