I know that this note is going out to all regions and the school is here in Phoenix, at Arizona Motorsport Park, but we just want you to know in case you want to do a road trip to here, for your teen to get some really good hands on training and experience in accident avoidance maneuvering etc...

The days of triple digit temps are gone for awhile and now by popular demand, it's again that time to teach new drivers the art of defensive driving! This Saturday October 15, 2011 at Arizona Motorsport Park's 15 acre driving pad, we will be accepting students on a first come first serve basis, if NASA members have teens, you will be at the top of the list and if you have friends with teens that need this important training, have them contact us asap.

As in the past Tage will have a place to register online at NASA-AZ and with in a day or two you will also be able to sign up on www.teamsafetydrivingschool.org If you would like to contact us, with any questions or to hold a spot, you can do so via our TSDS web site or you can call me directly.

Also October 15 is another sound check day for AMP's road course, if you have a new driver that needs training and a car that needs to be sound certified, you can try to do it all in one day! Check out their web site for more information arizonamotorsportspark.com/

Below is a tentative schedule for the day:

8:00am gates open to AMP
8:00 to 8:30 registration and introductions
8:30 to 9:00 class room discussion on what we will be accomplishing by the end of the day, basic car inspection, demonstrate proper hand positioning, seating position and mirror settings.
9:00 to 10:00 Slalom course, practicing 9 and 3 hand position, hand to hand feed and feeling car dynamics and where to look
10:00 to 11:30 Slalom and practicing start box, stop box and staging.
lunch
12:30 to 1:30pm Practice threshold braking (simple dynamics) start/stop box and staging
1:30 to 2:30 Practice brake and steer (complex dynamics) start/stop box and staging
2:30 to 4:00 Accident avoidance maneuvers
4:00 to 4:20 Recital, parents take a ride with their teen to see what they have accomplished
4:20 to 4:30 Certificates / ceremony
Depart property by 4:45pm
