With the car stripped out no interior,wire harness,or sunroof what in your estimation will the car weigh? The reason i ask this i want to plan the necessary weight to be added, and its mounting.

That is about right, but rules are 2600 min with driver. Some drivers are 230lbs and some are 150lbs.

How much ballast you need or if you need it all is determined in large part by weight. Last two times over the scales my car came in at less than 10lbs over running just about an empty tank. I run 20lbs of ballast and have 50-60lbs I probably could pull out of the car if needed. Clearly I don't.

Also read the rules on where ballast can be placed. It is limited to the front passenger foot well.

How heavy is your driver? Don't stress too much about ballast. You can always add gas in to make weight - 944 have big gas tanks. They can carry about 150lbs in gas, and only need less than 15lbs of gas left to keep from starving at the end of the race.
