TOPIC: Quick Release Hub question

Manuel_M OFFLINE Junior Racer Posts: 65	Hey guys, The quick release hub I'd like to get only comes in a 3/4" weld on adapter. My question is can this be welded to the 5/8" steering shaft of the porsche or do I have to get a different hub? Thanks.

joeblow OFFLINE Seasoned Racer Old Racer Posts: 226	Yep, the only way I ever did this was to machine the hub on a lathe so it was an interference fit over the steering shaft. I would then freeze it and press it onto the shaft. Last step was to TIG weld it. This is one item you dont want to screw up!
