TOPIC: Car shutting off

Car shutting off 7 years, 1 month ago #21568

hansoncuts OFFLINE Comp School Posts: 25	While on track last weekend the car would just shutdown like you turned off sometimes for a few seconds and sometimes longer then just take off like nothing happened. I'm thinking its electrical but thought I'd just reach out and see if anyone had some ideas.

reflexr OFFLINE Senior Racer Posts: 153	That happened to me at Buttonwillow with a corvette hot on my ass! Turned out the connector to the DME was just a hair loose, so under certain g loads, it came unplugged. I hope it's that simple. We chased wires and relays for hours.

Start by replacing DME relay, you should always have a spare. check DME plug. I have had a DME circuit board failure that had similar symptoms. If you don't have one get a spare DME.

Easy to replace those two major components to see if it fixes it.
