The median field size nationwide is what, 8-10 cars on average? It looks like Toyos come out ahead, and Toyo really isn't making more money on RA-1's than Nittos after all.

Yes, when you only have a few cars, the math works out reasonably. We've been there and done that, and then people saw us having fun, liked Chuck's vision for the class, and our growth exploded... When you have twice as many or more, the payout is the same, and you're imposing a $200 tax on 15+ people for the sake of 3 (the 4th and 5th payout doesn't do much more than make up for the price difference of the Nitto's). Even if you share all Toyo money with the group, it still doesn't make up for the price difference. And as others said, each price increase (of which there have been many) makes that an even worse deal. So that's where we're at, and combined with the availability issues and ridiculous politics, we've simply had enough. NASA/Toyo can and do look at this from a $$$ point of view, and so should we.

Well heres the breakdown on attendance by region.

AZ 138 entries for 16 events = 8.6 average (did not include Nats)

Mid West 43 entries for 7 events = 6.1 average

Nor Cal 93 entries for 16 events = 5.8 average

So Cal 124 entries for 16 events = 7.7 average

RM 158 entries for 12 events = 13.1 average

So East 2 entries for 2 events = 1 average

Totals 558 entries for 69 events = 8.08 average nationally

It appears by the math that the Toyo program is working perfectly and 5 of 7 drivers are getting paid (71%).

Now I get that with an average of 13 drivers per event that does not seem to great. But this is about all of the regions and not just one with 384 nationally vs. 158 for RMR.

This has to be kept in perspective for the greater good of the 944Spec program.
