Attached are some pictures of the new dash Dave Hauk and I built (okay, mostly Dave did the building part)for my car. The dash is aluminum, painted with crinkle paint, and is screwed on to a welded frame with nutzerts and small allen screws so we can take either or both sections off in a matter of minutes. I finished it out along the bottom with door guard strips to cover the sharp edge. It now has oil pressure and temp gauges, water temp gauge, voltmeter, new tach and center-mounted Traqmate. We also put in an hour meter (on left side of dash) and have both an on pull(left side) and off pull (right side) for the master kill switch, as well as the regular pull on the outside of the driver door. We think it came out pretty nice.

Nice job - very clean. One of these days I'll need to get serious about the dash and the rats nest behind it.

Except for the tach, they are all cheapo Harbor Freight 2" mechanical gauges that cost less than $100 total, but they seem accurate and are illuminated to boot. The tach is a nice one from O'Reilly that was on clearance for $59, which was than half the original price of $135.

Steve, I am just not sure that yours looks better than the cardboard one that Dave constructed and installed in the Gold 13 car at Miller two years ago. Now that was a beauty. I just wish I had some baby pictures of it to compete with your pictures.
