So I'm sitting at work reading over the CCR and wondering if I've forgotten anything. And... I have. How hard is it to remove the Steering Wheel Lock. Any Tricks? Or just take it all apart?

Not on mine. It took a BFH a chisel and some friendly persuasion to remove, but still only took a few minutes. Getting the tumbler out didn't make removing the pin for the column any easier. Since my ignition switch was shot I just hollowed the whole thing out (weight savings, you know !)

CJ,

Removing the steering lock in 944-Spec is not mandatory.

Section 1.0 of the CCR:
"All competition class rules and local supplemental rules supersede the CCR whenever there is a conflict."

Section 14.8 of the 944 Challenge Rules:
"The steering lock may be removed."

This is different from 944 Cup, where the lock MUST be removed.

Ah. Thanks Dave.

So I'm gettig a quick alignment today at 2pm. It felt like it was pulling to the right after taking the engine in and out of it... might have knocked something out of whack. I'll be down right afterwards!
