TOPIC: Flat tow hardware

Flat tow hardware 16 years, 7 months ago #1305

I'm looking for info on the hardware needed to flat tow my racer. I know a lot of you use an extra bumper, but wonder if that is the only way to go. Can the tow bars be hooked up directly to the bumper shocks ? I would also appreciate links to where you have purchased the tow bars, lights etc. Thanks in advance

I haven't seen a tow-bar that can be properly mounted directly to the bumper shocks. It's really not much trouble to swap out a front bumper (just two 19mm bolts), but you could probably also have a custom bar made that would bolt to the bumper shocks.

Here is the tow-bar that me and Chris are using: link

And here are magnetic lights that work really well for me: link

Buy them both from that site and you'll get free shipping since it puts the order over $150.

I was asking about the shock mount idea, since finding a bumper down here is looking tough. Thanks

I found a bumper on e-bay for $75. Is that too much ? Anybody have a lead on an extra 924s bumper for towing ? thanks

$75 is a little high, but not crazy. Chris and I got our bumpers from DART for $50 each, iirc.
