I am looking to replace my windshield with Lexan but the Nasa CCR and Spec rules do not state minimum thickness or mounting requirements.

Some installs I have seen have the lexan just sitting in the original frame with exterior clips and nothing more. Others are riveted around the perimeter.

What is the reccomended thickness?

What is the reccomended mounting proceedure?

I have been trying to buy one of the old Nascar windshields from Racingmetal for the past two months but cant seem to find one. Anyone have an alternate source?

I have one I was keeping as a spare. It has one hole drilled toward the top offcenter toward the passenger side. Not in the field of vision.

It is a hardened outer layer with anti fog inner which are the most expensive. It will be trim to fit.
