Understand that this forum is a 944 Spec forum, but I have read that there is alot of great write ups here! I have a '86 944 Turbo, I am using the factory engine harness, plugging into large 12 plug above the brake booster. I wish to have toggle switch, separate fuse block for this race car, any ideas??? If this works well I will install in my 944 ITS/SP2 car...

While I have no experience with turbos, the NA 944's are easy to clean up. The wiring that goes across to/from the 12 pin connector can all be handled inside the car and eliminate the wiring across the rear of the engine bay.

I removed all of the fuse block stuff, on the left side, and dumped all of the wires to the 12 pin connector. I put breakers inside the car and fed them from the battery cutoff switch. All in all, I dumped 40 pounds of wiring, fuses, etc with this approach. I did keep the actual engine harness part of the wiring. I did pull some wires back from the 12 pin connector and rerouted them back down the engine harness and into the car through the rubber case. Once inside the car, I wired them as needed for their function.

I have removed the fuse block and wish to use the chassis-side 12 pin to custom harness. Looking to find a wiring diagram for the 12 pin, so I can wire from there.

Matt take a look at this forum post

Careful with some of their "not used"s as they're doing LS-1 swaps.

Edit - this might be a little better.
