Like it says above, who makes a good sandwich adapter plate to fit an external oil cooler? Thanks in advance for advice. Also, do our cars typically use the -12 an size fittings? What size oil cooler should I get if I want to install behind the foglight hole passenger side?

Dart sells the adapter and can talk cooler size with you. I think bigger is mostly better so I went with a large cooler.

Line size are they 10 or 12 ? they seem big ?

You can also get a 944 turbo oil coler and make it work with a external cooler.

I have a MOCAL system that works well. I think the 944 tubo set-up is the cheapest.
Be aware that at least a couple of drivers had the plate/oil filter come loose with disasterous results. Did anybody find out the cause and fix? Or just improper installation?

I use a 944 Turbo system.

It uses all stock factory parts including the stock lines to connect the cooler. I mounted mine behind the fog light.

The good thing about the turbo system is that it also takes away heat from the water system as you are not trying cool the oil with water as well. Plus it is solid and works well.

You will need a 951 oil filter housing, lines and cooler.

most all can obtained used.

I've had pretty good luck with the Mocal sandwich plate with thermostat and a Earls 19 rows -12 cooler...But if you can find a 951 setup..that would be the way to go...

I am switching from a sandwich plate setup to the 951 system, as I've had the sandwhich plate come loose several times, despite vigorous torquing beyond manufacturer specs. I lost my motor at Miller in large part because of that. The 951 system eliminates that potential failure point.
