Is it not heat related? What causes the ring and pinion lash to go out of tolerance?

After my second race my trans started whining. When I got the side cover off I found this:

The gentleman I talked to that quoted me this setup agreed that generally, the whole of the box withstands what we do and largely hasn't seen any failures, heat or mechanical, with our power level and how fast were going. What he did say he sees a lot of is discoloring on the main support bearings, either side of the diff.

Maybe I am just being paranoid because this is the only thing to actually break on my car in the 2+ years Ive had it (that wasnt my fault). I want to make it so I dont have to keep finding junkyard boxes and swapping in LSDs and then resetting the lash. My time and labor make it worth it to me to add a simple cooler.

However, instead of pulling the trigger on a $1000 setup, I'm going to run a trans temp gauge and log some temps before deciding how much of this I need. After all, I have a new dash setup that has 2 spare gauge holes in it that I need to fill.

I'm curious to see what the temps will be, maybe I'm being a little naive and should think of a cooler, I did spend good money on the diff and don't want to lose it.

Charlie, no problem with the parts, they should have been delivered Friday or Saturday. I remember a few years ago at Sears Point seeing you in my mirror going into 7. I didn't think you we're that close so I dove to the apex. You were there and had to run over the curb breaking a ball joint. I owe you still for that so a mirror and lights are small compensation

Well, in that case I want my stuff back! Or how about I give you a collapsed bumper shock I took off my car after scraping red paint off the bumper?!

Jim, are we gonna see you and your better half at Sonoma in march?

Mr. Foxx, I had heard a rumor that you will be at Fontana. Any truth to that?

Looking forward to seeing all you mugs again.

Looks like I will be driving the E30 this time.
