Alternator in my 86 race at is out & I have a rebuilt one from an early car buried in the trailer. Question is, will it fit? I know the pulley is different, can it be swapped easily?

The pulley will swap out from memory but the tensioner will mount differently. I seem to recall you can flip the side the tensioner mount too and it will work.

Some of the alternators have a threaded rear mount and some dont. You may have to get a longer bolt and nut.
I just swapped a late alternator for an early one and that was the main difference.
It is possible that the pulleys may differ as well. There is a 6 groove and a 5 groove pulley. These can be swapped with no issues. You will need an impact gun to do it though.
