Got a new project for the next year or so. Want to build a Spec car.

It appears most of you are using Ground Control adjustable conversions in front? (Same as sold by Paragon just repackaged?) The aluminum threaded sleeve etc for 2.5" or 2.25" springs.

Went to the GC website and they have a link which states it's to the Spec legal parts. That link appears not to work - just returns to the same page. I do see they have several kits some of which appear to include straight copies of the oem strut with Koni inserts. But, it's hard to tell - GC website descriptions are, uh, sparse. Is there any one or more kits that fit the bill?

Thanks.

most of us keep it simple. so any 2.5" spring with a adjustable perch would work well. ground control and a few other companies fit the bill. One of the RM drivers even went to a circle track shop and got the sleeve and collar for real low cost ...
add 8" springs 350-400# and it's a done deal.

Will need 30mm rear torsion bars. Weltmeister sway bars seem to be the prefered choice front and rear.
Koni or Bilsteins will do the job. I have won races with either.
My new car has stock bushings in the forward mount of the rear control arm. Black eurothane in the torsion tube mount and swing arm.
The front has black eruothane in forward mount and stock rubber in rear mount.
Car is plenty fast

I'm sure it is. Your comment though reminds me of the (perhaps apocryphal) quote attributed to the late Mark Donohue? Loosely he said no race car was ever fast enough.

Wasn't it something like 'when I can spin the wheels from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next - there is enough power'. Or - plenty fast!!

I did race Ralley for a couple of years and that was pretty much the gist of it. Lots of controlled wheel spin. Then manic braking and back on the throttle. Too much fun!!!
