is an oil seperator different from a 83to a 84. i picked up a 84 motor and the oil seperator was missing but my 83 will not fit the bottom hole is bigger than the top. any help will be appreciated thanks

yep different. I think the early 83's are the only ones that are different. so any later one will work.

The only difference is change to the lower hole size. If you have an 83 engines it is critcal to get the right O-ring. Some 83 engines use the the different hole diameter as it was a mid year change.
