Have you thought about simplifying the engine build rule set or eliminating engine disassembly as a result of putting these caps in place?

One could argue that extensive disassembly to ensure compliance with the rules isn't justified if the dyno numbers say the engine falls in line with the rest of the class.

This could save some time and cost of reassembly.

Yes, this would give us an avenue to simplify tech (and make it less painful!). This is not to say that those options aren't on the table, but there may be less need for as deep or invasive a tech. If TQ curves start looking odd, we may dig, for example.

This is one other potential benefits of dyno testing, at Nationals. It would also help to end some of the wild speculation that happened in years past.

There will always be the Wild Speculators no matter what you do. Some drivers just cannot accept they got beat by skill alone.

In my case anyone behind me lacks my skills but anyone in front is obviously cheating

It can also open the door to cheating. If I can't hit the numbers normally/legally, I might do something illegal to bring my HP/TQ numbers up and then put in a restricter plate. If I know your not going to tear my motor down why not cheat. A fully balanced motor and coatings on the piston and..........Will get me about 147ish and then I'll just dial it back some to fall in line with the numbers.

Ken, you been watching too much X-Files!

If you going to rebuild your motor, you can make it hit the cap w/o all that trouble. If your dyno meets the cap, but looks like an outlier TQ curve wise, it would give us cause to take a closer look.
