I found this post about adjusting the AFM. It's from a VW, but applies to the 944 also.

I found that there is an idle air adjustment on the AFM, but it only seems to vary the Air/Fuel ratio by about 1.

I just found the lengthy AFM Adjustment thread that was started 5 years ago on here and stickied it in the Race Car Build section. It also has a lot of good info directly pertaining to our class and the AFM.
