Joint events would be a great idea. Sonoma, however, is a 10 hour tow from San Diego, though. I believe Nor Cal should give So Cal racers tow money to come to Sonoma!
Also, PRC (the group Nor Cal races in) has their own rules and does not follow NASA's. For instance, there is no 3 wide on the straight at the start. So Cal has 4/5 wide at times.
They are talking about requiring the lead car to pick the inside or outside line in a corner when another car is following. They would then have to leave enough room on whichever side they did not pick. For example, if you entered the corner from the edge of the track you could not go to the apex even if the following car does not have ANY overlap with the lead car.
They have their own Spec E-30 class (911 Spec) with lots of contact so they are changing their rules again to deal with that. Apparently, if you are next to another car in a corner and that car gets loose and slides out, you will be put on probation because you were "too aggressive" by not leaving enough room for that car to catch their mistake without touching you.
Perhaps joint events could run in another run group when in Nor Cal to get away from the PRC.
