Thanks also goes out to Eric for his countless hours of getting things ready for our 944 group, He did a super job with everyone needing a minute of his time, and then having the energy to go out and drive a great final. A job well done. I bet you slept well when you finally got home. Thanks to Linda for all the great pictures.

Greg, thanks. Thanks God Linda was there!. She spent hours getting the qualifying results striaghtened out, and keeping track of things. Still, I did sleep 10 hours the last two nights, which I never do!

So how's Tyler handling being a celebrity at school?

Charlie, we still go full throtte, even in the rain. But being from SoCal, you might not know that. . Tech was useful, and interesting, for reasons beyond compliance. Most of all, it made a statement that we will not allow cheating!!! We looked for a lot of things that certain shops told us " [don't worry] no one will look for this." I tore my own (very legal) car down, with a 4.5 hour endurance race on the schedule this Friday, to make that point.

Tyler did not have the most powerful car there. He earned that win the old fashioned way - drove better.

Tim, I had a little "help" in overdoing it at the start (see my videos). I just very glad that the rest of the field drove heads-up, and did not collect me.

Again this was a phenominal group of guys, who drove well, under very difficult conditions. This is especially amazing for Tyler, as it was only his second time in the wet!

Yes a big applause to Eric for all that he organized at Nationals.

And BMS for the support for the 944 group.

Even though it never rains in So-Cal I have lots of rain experience racing.
I only live 140 miles from Laguna Seca. I have hundreds of laps there in heavy fog and rain. One of my favorite places.

Watching that race in the rain and not being there to compete was killing me.

Even though Tyler has only raced cars in the rain 2 times he has lots of experience in Karts in the rain. A much more difficult situation by far. No wipers, a 70% weight bias to the rear, open tires flinging water everywhere. Heck the car probably seems like an easy chair compared to that.

Overall a great event for 944Spec.

Just busting your chops, Charlie. I'd love to come and to Laguna one of these days. Showing my ignorance, I ddidn't know they held kart races in the rain. Yeah, it seems like a challenge!

You will definetly have to give Laguna a try. It is really a momentum track. T3-6 are all fast and at the ragged edge. The Corkscrew is fun but it is the least important corner of the track. T9-10 are very fast and scary.
It has a fantastic racing surface with great curbing and decent runoffs in most places.

No worries on the Chop busting. Just want to make sure you know we race in the rain here too. Just not as often as you guys.

Now Karts in the rain, that is a whole different game. Only did that a couple of times and will not be doing that ever again. You cant believe how miserable it is.
